Effective Date: April 25, 2026
Weekend Plans ("Weekend Plans," "we," "our," or "the app") helps users create and share weekend plans with friends. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
We collect your phone number for phone number sign-in, account verification, account security, and friend lookup. We also collect the display name you provide so other users can recognize you in the app.
We use account identifiers, such as Firebase Authentication user IDs and Firestore document identifiers, to connect your account with your profile, friends, plans, RSVP responses, and app data.
We collect content you create or interact with in the app, including weekend plans, notes or descriptions, selected place or location text, event dates and times, sharing settings, circle membership, friend invitations, RSVP responses, calendar events created on your device when you choose to sync plans to your calendar, and messages sent in plan threads, including message text, sender name, and timestamp.
We collect information needed to support friend features, including friend requests, friend connections, and circles or groups.
The app may use notifications to alert you about friend requests, accepted friend requests, and plans shared by friends. Notification-related information may be stored locally on your device and used to decide when to show notifications.
The app uses Firebase Authentication for phone number sign-in and Google Firestore for app data storage. These services may process technical information necessary to provide authentication, security, and app functionality.
We use the information collected to:
We do not use your data for third-party advertising, targeted advertising, or tracking you across other companies' apps or websites.
Weekend Plans uses Google Firestore to store app data, including profiles, friends, circles, plans, sharing settings, RSVP information, and plan thread messages. Data is stored on Google's servers and is only accessible to users with the appropriate permissions based on sharing settings.
Phone authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication. Place search is supported by Google Places. Calendar sync, if enabled, stores event data locally on your device using Apple's EventKit framework and is not transmitted to our servers.
We do not sell your personal information.
Information may be visible to other users only as needed for app features. For example:
We may share information with service providers that help operate the app, including Google Firebase (Firestore and Authentication) and Google Places, as needed to provide app functionality. Calendar data synced to your device is not shared with us or any third party.
Weekend Plans uses third-party services to operate the app:
We use Google Firestore to store and sync app data, including profile information, friends, circles, plans, sharing settings, RSVP information, and plan thread messages. Data is processed and stored by Google according to Google's terms and privacy policy.
We use Firebase Authentication to provide phone number sign-in and account authentication. Firebase may process your phone number and authentication-related technical information to verify and secure your account.
We use Google Places to help users search for and select places when creating or editing plans. Google may process place-search queries according to Google's terms and privacy policy.
If you choose to enable calendar sync, Weekend Plans uses Apple's EventKit framework to add, update, or remove events on your device's calendar. This data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties.
We keep your account and app data while your account is active or as needed to provide the app's features. Messages sent in plan threads are automatically removed after 90 days.
If you delete your account, Weekend Plans attempts to delete your profile, hosted plans, friend connections, friend requests, circles, discoverability record, and related app data from the app's cloud storage.
Some data may remain temporarily due to backups, logs, or technical limitations of third-party services.
You can request account deletion inside the app from Settings > Delete Account.
Deleting your account removes your Weekend Plans profile and associated app data where possible. It also attempts to delete your phone authentication account. For security reasons, Firebase may require you to sign in again before the phone-auth account can be deleted.
