GardenPal Privacy Policy Effective Date: August 2025 This Privacy Policy applies to GardenPal, developed by Fidget Labs ("Company," "we," "us," "our"). It explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use GardenPal, a plant care and identification application. By using GardenPal, you agree to the practices described below. Information We Collect Plant data you create: names, descriptions, photos, care logs, growth tracking, watering schedules, health issue records. Device and usage information: subscription status, daily usage counters, app preferences, notification settings. Photos and camera data: plant photos captured with the camera or selected from your library. Images are processed locally on your device. How We Use Your Information We use your information to identify plants, generate personalized care recommendations, sync your plant collection via iCloud, send reminders, provide AI health diagnoses, and manage subscription features. Data Storage and Synchronization Local storage: plant photos, care logs, and notes remain on your device. iCloud: plant names, care data, schedules, and diagnoses sync through your iCloud account. We do not have access to this data. Third-Party Services PlantNet API: used for plant identification. Only plant images are sent securely; no personal data is included. OpenAI API: used for care recommendations and diagnoses. Only plant-related text is sent. Apple Services: StoreKit for subscriptions, CloudKit for syncing, local notifications for reminders. Information Sharing We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal information. Plant identification data is processed by PlantNet for scientific purposes, care recommendations are generated by OpenAI, and all other data remains in your iCloud. Information may only be disclosed if required by law or to protect user safety. Data Retention and Deletion Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. iCloud data is stored in your account according to Apple’s policies. Subscription data is maintained per App Store billing policies. API requests are processed temporarily and not stored. You can delete your data at any time by using the “Clear All Plants” option, uninstalling the app, or managing iCloud storage through device settings. Children’s Privacy GardenPal does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Users under 13 must have parental permission. Security All API communications use HTTPS encryption. iCloud data is protected by Apple’s security. We do not collect or store sensitive personal information. Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When updates occur, we will revise the effective date and notify users through the app. Continued use of GardenPal after updates means acceptance of the revised Policy.
